When conducting salt spray tests, the following are the general salt spray tester operating procedures:
1. Preparation:
a. Check the status of the salt spray tester to ensure that the equipment is in normal working condition.
b. Check the amount of salt water in the brine storage tank to ensure that it is sufficient for testing.
c. Prepare the sample to be tested according to the test requirements, and ensure that the sample surface is dry and clean.
d. Set the test parameters, such as test time, temperature, brine concentration, etc., as required.
2. Sample installation:
a. Mount the sample to be tested on the sample rack in the test chamber, ensuring proper spacing between the samples.
b. Use fixtures or clamps as needed to ensure that the samples remain stable during the test.
3. Brine spray setup:
a. Turn on the salt spray tester's brine supply system.
b. Set parameters such as spray volume, spray angle and spray period of brine spray according to test requirements.
c. Ensure that the nozzles are clean and adjusted and calibrated as needed.
4. Start the test:
a. Seal the test chamber and make sure the pressure inside the chamber is balanced.
b. Start the salt spray tester and begin testing.
c. Set the test time according to the equipment requirements and ensure that the temperature and humidity in the test chamber are stable.
5. Monitor and record:
a. Periodically monitor parameters such as temperature, humidity and brine concentration in the test chamber during the test.
b. Periodically check the corrosion of the sample surface and record the test time and corrosion degree.
c. As needed, photos or recorded videos can be taken to record the testing process and corrosion of the samples.
6. End the test:
a. At the end of the test time, turn off the salt spray tester.
b. Turn on the ventilation system of the test chamber to discharge the salt mist and moisture from the test chamber.
c. Remove the test sample, clean it and record the final corrosion condition.
d. Turn off the brine supply system and clean the nozzles of the salt spray tester and the residual brine in the test chamber.
7. Data analysis and reporting:
a. Perform data analysis of the test results to assess the degree of corrosion of the sample.
b. Write a test report including information on test conditions, test results, corrosion conditions and conclusions.
Please note that the above are general operating procedures and the specific steps may vary depending on the model and testing requirements of different salt spray testers. Before performing salt spray testing, please be sure to refer to the operating manual of the equipment and follow the relevant safety regulations.
