The permeability performance of fabrics can be evaluated by the following indicators:
Permeability: Permeability refers to the ability of air to pass through the fabric in a unit of time, and is usually expressed in terms of the amount of air per unit of time through the fabric or the amount of air per unit area. The size of the permeability index is related to the fiber type, structure, thickness and tightness of the fabric.
Moisture permeability: moisture permeability refers to the ability of water vapor to pass through the fabric within a unit of time, usually expressed in terms of the amount of water vapor per unit of time through the fabric or the amount of moisture per unit area. The size of the moisture permeability index and the fabric fiber type, structure, thickness and porosity and other factors.
Water resistance: water resistance refers to the permeability of the fabric to water, usually expressed in terms of the contact angle or water pressure on the surface of the fabric. The size of the waterproofness index is related to the material, processing process, thickness and structure of the fabric and other factors.
Moisture absorption: moisture absorption refers to the ability of the fabric to absorb water, usually expressed in terms of the amount of moisture absorption or moisture absorption rate of the fabric at a certain humidity. The size of the moisture absorption index is related to the fabric's fiber type, structure, surface treatment and porosity, and other factors.
The above indicators are often used to evaluate the permeability of fabrics, and companies can choose suitable test methods and indicators for testing and evaluation according to the characteristics and needs of their own products.
