There are several other important standards for evaluating mask quality in addition to the standard for evaluating mask flammability. Some of these standards include:
Bacterial Filtration Efficiency (BFE): This standard measures the ability of a mask to filter out bacteria from the air. The test measures the percentage of bacteria that are filtered out by the mask, with a higher percentage indicating better filtration efficiency.
Particle Filtration Efficiency (PFE): This standard measures the ability of a mask to filter out particles from the air. The test measures the percentage of particles that are filtered out by the mask, with a higher percentage indicating better filtration efficiency.
Differential Pressure (Delta P): This standard measures the breathability of a mask. It measures the pressure difference between the inside and outside of the mask, with a lower pressure indicating better breathability.
Synthetic Blood Penetration Resistance: This standard measures the ability of a mask to resist penetration by synthetic blood. The test involves exposing the mask to synthetic blood at a certain pressure, and then checking for any penetration or wetting of the mask.
Splash Resistance: This standard measures the ability of a mask to resist penetration by liquid splashes. The test involves exposing the mask to a stream of liquid at a certain pressure, and then checking for any penetration or wetting of the mask.
These standards are important in evaluating the overall quality and effectiveness of masks for various applications, such as medical use, industrial use, and personal use.
