Introduction
The main principle of smoke density measurement is that in a particular space, the cable or material produces smoke under specific combustion or radiation conditions,  and the light beam penetrating through the smoke will produce attenuation. Measuring the light transmittance and calculation will get the optical density and smoke density.
The instrument is designed and developed according to ISO5659 related standards. With the use of Conical radiation furnace, the heat flux in the chamber can be as high as 50 kW/ m2, and the sample can be positioned horizontally to test the mass loss rate of the sample. This also complies with the latest IMO test terms. Measure the amount of smoke generated when the sample is vertically exposed to a radioactive heat source at 25 kW / m2 when there is or there is no forward flame in confined space.
Using the standard ISO 5659 conical radiant heating furnace, the user can adjust the heating conditions from 10 kW㎡ into 50 kW/㎡ or 70kW/㎡.

 · The tester consists of a chamber, a sample box, a radiant cone, an igniter, a light transmission and measuring device and other related control devices.
· Ergonomic design and control design; chamber with a fully open door ; door lock designed to facilitate one-time closure of the door; optimize the operation process.
· The test chamber door can be fully opened to facilitate loading and unloading samples and cleaning the box;
· Front door, hinge mounted, with window and non-transparent light shading board which can block the window, to prevent light from entering the sealed chamber.
· The controller is located on the side of the chamber for easy operation. When the door is closed, it does not affect the controller to be viewed.
· Safe flameout board, easy to replace, more secure operation.
· A gas measuring port is available for testing gas toxicity.
· The coating of the test chamber is easy to clean and resistant to chemical corrosion.

Combustion Apparatus
· Heating cone: power 2600W, input temperature range of 0 ~ 1000℃, stable within ± 2℃ within 50 mins, can provide 10KW / m²-50KW / m² of radiation exposure.
· The use of mass flow controllers and differential pressure sensors enhances the accuracy of the manometer and enables automatic leak testing.
· The ignitor is equipped with automatic ignition device; flame length 30mm ± 5mm; in accordance with the standard provisions of blue flame with yellow on the top.
· Smoke density and temperature are digital displayed, more simple view, more accurate value
· Photoelectric detection components include photomultiplier tubes, amplifying filters, optical shutters, optical filters, neutral optical filters, lenses, optical windows, etc.
· The light source is 6.5V incandescent lamp.
· An optical cartridge is installed on the top of the chamber. the light source is receipted by the side window type photoelectric multiplier. Light transmittance accuracy can reach 0.001%
