45-degree Flammability test:A test sample is aligned at 45° and exposed to a small burner flame at its center. The flame is applied for 30 seconds and then pulled away from the sample. If the sample continues to flame, this flame time is recorded along with any glowing that may occur after the flame extinguishes. The flame may not penetrate the test sample. The pass/fail criteria is based on flame penetration and the flame time and glow time averaged across three test samples.

60-degree Flammability test:A test sample is aligned at 60° and exposed to a small burner flame. The flame is applied for 30 seconds and then pulled away from the sample. If the sample continues to flame, this flame time is recorded along with any flaming drips that may occur. After the test is over, the burn length is measured. The pass/fail criteria is based on these three values averaged across three test samples.
