The UV Accelerated Weathering Tester's xenon lamps reproduce the true full spectrum of sunlight, including ultraviolet, visible and infrared. For certain materials exposed to the full spectrum, especially for color change and light stability testing of textiles, it is very important to provide an accurate simulated spectrum.
1. Solar eye irradiance control
The solar eye irradiance control system ensures accurate exposure and maximum repeatability and reproducibility of test results by continuously monitoring and controlling the lamp output.
The filters of the UV Accelerated Weathering Tester are specially designed to produce the spectrum required by most weathering and light stability testing standards. These standards apply to a variety of outdoor application industries and indoor application industries.
For different applications, xenon lamps need to pass through different filters to output the correct spectrum. The difference in spectrum affects the speed and type of aging. The optical lanterns of the Q-SUN Xe-2 lightfastness tester consist of an outer borosilicate or quartz glass cylinder and two sets of inner filters. This design can meet the requirements of a variety of different xenon lamp standards, including ISO, ASTM, AATCC and automotive OEM plants. The Q-SUN Xe-2 can simulate direct sunlight or sunlight through window glass.
3. Temperature monitoring and control
Temperature control is very important because it affects the rate of aging. The Q-SUN Xe-2 testing machine precisely controls the exposure temperature of the samples through the blackboard and chamber temperature sensors. The blackboard temperature can be set between 35ºC and 105ºC depending on factors such as whether the blackboard is isolated, irradiance level, filter type, chamber air temperature and laboratory ambient temperature.
4. Humidity control
The relative humidity (RH) control of the Q-SUN Xe-2 lightfastness tester is standard. It allows the user to simultaneously control and display relative humidity, blackboard temperature and cabinet air temperature. Please note that pure water is required for proper operation of the relative humidity system of the Xe-2 chamber.
5. Optional water spray function
The water spray function of the Xe-2 solar light fastness tester can simulate the attack of outdoor moisture. The water spray nozzle is placed at the top of the box, which can operate in dark cycle and light cycle. The water spray function of the Xe-2 test chamber and the normal operation of the relative humidity system require the use of pure water.
6. Control and optional software
For functionality and ease of operation, the Q-SUN Xe-2 controller supports five languages (English, French, Spanish, Italian or German) and is equipped with self-diagnosis and error correction functions. The controller continuously monitors the situation and controls all systems. It also displays simple warning messages, regular service reminders or safe shutdowns as needed.
